MICHAEL'S EPISODE REVIEW
FEBRUARY
24, 2001
Katie
Holmes/ Dave Matthews Band
A
MESSAGE FROM THE EX-PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES: BILL CLINTON
This cold open was pretty good! I loved how Clinton said
that the table was from the White House and that Hillary's
brother had to use a coaster to put his beer down. Even though
Darrell hasn't been doing a lot of his Clinton impression, it is
still amazing.
A
MONOLOGUE
Katie and Will can really tap dance!! However, I think that when
Will was tap dancing, there was a tape playing because a couple
of times his feet weren't moving and there was still the noise of
the tapping. This is the part of the show where I realized how
hott Katie Holmes is. My God she's gorgious. I actually wanted
her dress to fall off! Too bad she held the strap when it did
though. That was the first blooper of tonight's show.
A
MR.
PEEPERS
I loved this sketch and I thought that it was one of the best
Peepers' sketches ever. Here is the second blooper, when Chris
Kattan jumped on the bed, the chest fell over and almost hit
Katie in the arm. It was so funny how Peepers gave Katie
mouth-to-mouth on her forehead and then humped her when she was
unconscience.
A+
DREW
BARRYMOORE'S BURNING HOUSE
This sketch was really funny. I was laughing histarically when
Maya said "We all knew that Drew's career was on fire. Now
her house is." That was a classic line!! Also, Jimmy's Tom
Green impression was so accurate. Katie's Drew Barrymore
impression wasn't that good. I thought that Kate Hudson did a
better job when she hosted the show back in October of 2000. I
also thought that this sketch had a lot of boring content. I
loved how Tracy couldn't put out the fire also!
B
BACKSTREET
BOYS CARTOON
This was so stupid. I thought that when they said the Backstreet
Boys were sucking all over the place that they meant something
dirty but they just implied that they were bad at signing, which
in my opinion is true. This cartoon was just dumb. Lorne should
just drop the cartoons all together. The only funny ones are the
Ambiguously Gay Duo cartoons.
C-
SEXUAL
PROFESSOR
This sketch was okay. I loved the ending of it because Will and
Rachel were both so in love with eachother and then he yelled at
her because his back hurt him. I thought that it was pretty good
though.
B
DAVE
MATTHEWS BAND - "I DID IT"
Wow. Dave Matthews is so amazing. He is my absolute
favorite band in the whole world. I loved it when he sang this
song. "I Did It" was not as good as CD quality because
you could bearly hear any other instruments besides the guitar
and the drums. It was still a great performance though.
A+
WEEKEND
UPDATE with JIMMY FALLON & TINA FEY
This week's Weekend Update was not as good as they
usually are. The jokes aren't that funny anymore and I think that
the jokes in the beginning of the season were a lot funnier.
However, I understand that Tina and Jimmy do a lot of the writing
for the jokes and they probably do need a vacation. Also, this is
where blooper number three comes in, in the beginning of Weekend
Update, the TV screen came down and then went back up.
B
JARRET'S
ROOM
I didn't think that this sketch was funny at all! Why
did they keep featuring Jimmy in this whole episode? I didn't
understand that. They should have definitely cut this sketch
because it was not funny at all. I smirked but I didn't laugh.
D
"TOUGH
AS NAILS" MOVIE
Hahaha!! This was the best sketch of the night, along with Mr.
Peepers. I love how Will kept complaining about his balls and how
he said that he was going to sew them on at the end of the show.
Katie was also amazing in the sketch. I thoght that it was a
really great sketch: AMAZING.
A+
DAVE
MATTHEWS BAND - "THE SPACE BETWEEN"
Once again, Dave pulled off a great song. I thought that this
songs sounded so amazing and I can't wait to buy his new CD,
"Everyday".
PASSIVELY
AGRESSIVE PAM
I thought that this sketch was pretty funny and it's about time
that Ana got a recurring character! I was so proud of her!!
A-
BOAT
SKIT
Katie's lines were very funny but Chris Parnell and Rachel Dratch
didn't have good lines. The idea of what the writers were trying
to prove was very funny but I didn't think that the sketch was
that funny. A great part of the sketch was how Parnell and
Rudolph fell in love with each other after they realized that
they both and the most discusting things in common.
B+
OVERALL
I thought that this was the second best episode of the season.
Calista Flockhart's episode was the best, even though i don't
like her. Katie did a really good job as the host of the show.
